Niantic have announced that they are performing tests on EX raid battles (formerly exclusive raid battles) in preparation for the release of Mewtwo worldwide.
As well as announcing the release of the legendary beasts, Entei, Raikou and Suicune, Niantic announced that EX raid bosses were in the ‘field-test phase’ before the new feature is released to the world. Pokemon Go Empire announced on our Facebook page that Mewtwo was coming in the next few weeks and this now looks very likely to be the case!
Niantic had the following to say on EX raid boss battle tests:
We have collected some valuable early feedback on the new EX Raid Battle feature and will look to further test and hone the experience through the feedback of the dedicated global Trainer community. During the field test, we’ll be making periodic adjustments to EX Raid eligibility requirements, frequency, times, locations, and durations with the goal of making the EX Raid Battle feature engaging, rewarding, and most importantly, fun for Trainers who regularly participate in Raid Battles.
Mewtwo will be available to trainers worldwide very soon through EX Raid battles
The first EX raid passes will be sent out soon to trainers worldwide as part of the field test. Trainers taking part in other raids will become eligble for an invitation to the exclusive raid, which is almost 100% guaranteed to be Mewtwo following his release at the Pokemon GO Stadium event in Yokohama, Japan last month.
If you are one of the lucky ones invited to take part in the EX raid boss field-test, you could be one of the first trainers worldwide (Japan event excluded) to own the legendary Pokemon!
