Moltres Raid Boss – How To Beat Moltres In A Pokemon Go Raid

Moltres Raid Boss

Moltres Raid Boss

Moltres is a raid boss encountered in a legendary raid (legendary egg). His raid boss combat power (CP) is 41593 and his maximum capture CP after you defeat it in a raid is 1870 (at perfect 100% IV). Moltres is a legendary Pokemon and currently one of the hardest raid bosses available in Pokemon Go; he is not soloable and indications show it can take 6+ trainers to defeat Moltres, although it has been reported that Moltres can be defeated with as little as 2 trainers depending on the strength of the Pokémon they have. It will take a team of high CP Pokemon that are super-effective against him; namely rock-types such as Golem and water types such as Vaporeon.

The below is a full rundown on this raid boss with all the information needed to successfully defeat Moltres in battle.

Attackers & Tips

Moltrees will need to be taken on by 6+ trainers (but possibly as little as 2) who have a team of high CP super effective Pokemon, preferably rock-type or water type, to defeat it.

Golem, Vaporeon, Feraligatr and Tyranitar would be good choices to face Moltres

Golem with rock-type moves will deal good damage to Moltres; rock has a 2x super effective bonus and can really take it down. A Tyranitar with Stone Edge will also do good damage. Water types such as Vaporeon and Feraligatr are also strong options. Aside from these options, you want Pokemon who will deal as much damage as possible (Dragonite, Gyarados etc). Remember to dodge as much as possible, especially the charge move.
